Detailed Itinerary - 11 Days Langtang Valley Trip

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1350m) and Transfer to the Hotel

Our representative will pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After checking in, you will be briefed about the tour. In the evening, you can either rest or stroll around the city. You will also stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu Valley

After breakfast, we will start the beautiful tour of the ancient Kathmandu Valley. An experienced local guide will provide a detailed tour of the city. The majestic UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu will enthrall you.

You will visit Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath (the Monkey temple), and Boudhanath. From the Swayambhunath temple, you can see the entire Kathmandu valley. We will also tour the stunning Basantapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.

Moreover, you can observe the beautiful architecture and lifestyle of the Newar community and taste their exotic cuisine. We complete all the formalities of the trek and obtain the necessary trekking permit. Then, you will rest and stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1450m)

Drive duration: 7-8 hours

After breakfast, we will start our drive to Syabrubesi. The trek will take us along the banks of the pristine Trishuli River. The ride will lead us to beautiful, hilly, zig-zag, winding roads, where we will overlook the magnificent mountain vista from our window.

Moreover, the awe-inspiring views of the snow-capped mountains will overwhelm you. The trip's highlights are the incredible views of the magical mountains, including Ganesh Himal, Manasalu, Mt. Annapurna II, and others. You can observe the beautiful terraced farmed hills and the unique cultural settlements of the local community.

The trails pass through the scenic settlements of Trishuli Bazaar, Betrawati, and Dhunche, to arrive at Syabrubesi. We arrive at our destination after a drive of 7-8 hours. Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2480m)

Walking distance: 10.9 km

Time duration: 6-7 hours

After breakfast, we will start our Trek to Lama Hotel from Syabrubesi. We will start our tour alongside the beautiful Bhote Koshi River. We pay for our pilgrimage to the incredible Guru Rinpoche Gompa and then leave the town, passing through the stone-paved street.

We pass the stunning river through a vast suspension bridge. The trail then ascends the settlement of Bamboo. We then pass through the forested area with various trees, including rhododendron, maple, fir, spruce, and blue pine. You can also observe the diverse wildlife of the region.

Moreover, this wildlife includes langur monkeys, wild boars, yellow-throated martens, red pandas, Himalayan black bears, and others. We then climb for a few hours to arrive at the settlement of Rimche (2400m) and then a little further to Lama Hotel. We will stay at the Lama Hotel overnight.

Day 05: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3540m)

Walking distance: 14.8 km

Time duration: 4-5 hours

After breakfast, we will start our trek to the Langtang village. The trail begins with a gentle climb that leads us to the rhododendrons, oaks, and maple forests. The outstanding views of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7244m) will welcome us along the way.

We will then cross some primitive wooden bridges to arrive at the Ghora Tabela meadows (2992m), which look like a U-shaped glacier. We will then trek to the grasslands, yak pastures, and rhododendron forests. Along the trail, we can also observe the scattered Tamang settlements.

Moreover, the trail leads us to streams and waterfalls before we arrive at the beautiful Langtang village (3430m). The lovely town has stone walls to protect crops from the harsh winds. Potatoes, turnips, buckwheat, wheat, and barley are some of the crops grown in the region. We will stay overnight at a teahouse in Langtang village.

Day 06: Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3900m)

Walking distance: 6.8 km

Time duration: 2-3 hours

After breakfast, we will start our trek by climbing the ridge to observe a large Chorten. We will then climb further along the beautiful mani walls to arrive at the settlement of Mundu (3543m). The trek will take us along incredible streams and wooden bridges to the Kyanjin Gompa (3817m).

Moreover, the pristine Kyanjin Gompa (3817m) is the spiritual hub of the entire region. We can observe beautiful views of Mt. Ganchhenpo and Mt. Langtang Lirung from the mountains. There is also a famous cheese factory where we can taste the delicious local Yak cheese.

You can also observe the local community's unique culture, traditions, and lifestyle. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 07: Acclimatization/Exploration around Kyanjin Gompa; short hike up to Tserko Ri (4985m)

After breakfast, we start our acclimatization and exploration tour with a brief excursion to the beautiful Gompa area. The trek's prime attraction is the breathtaking views and peaceful environment.

Moreover, we can also hike the magnificent Trekking peak of the Tserko Ri (5150m). The beautiful views of Langtang Glacier and Langshisha Kharka will enchant you. After touring for a few hours, we will arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. We will stay overnight at a local teahouse.

Day 08: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa back to Lama Hotel

Walking distance: 21.6 km

Time duration: 6 hours

After breakfast, we will start our trek to the Lama Hotel. Along the trail, we will observe the beautiful snow-capped mountains. The walk will then lead us to the beautiful Langtang Khola and village.

Moreover, we observed the beautiful village and vast pastures of Ghora Tabela, where we had lunch. After lunch, we return to the Lama Hotel. We will stay overnight at a local teahouse.

Day 09: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi

Walking distance: 10.9 km

Time duration: 4-5 hours

After breakfast, we will start our trek, following the route we took earlier during the tour. We will pass through the settlement of Bamboo along the forested rhododendron trail and arrive at Syabrubesi after 4-5 hours. We will stay overnight at a teahouse in Syabrubesi.

Day 10: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

Drive duration: 7-8 hours

After breakfast, we will drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu. Our 11-day Langtang Valley Trek officially ends. You can stroll around the city in the evening or go last-minute shopping in Thamel. We will celebrate the completion of the tour with a complimentary dinner.

Day 11: Drive to the International Airport for Departure

Our representative will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Tribhuvan International Airport. There, you can board a flight to your desired destination.
