About Tamang Heritage Trek

Tamang Heritage Trek is a cultural Trek in the Langtang Himalaya, which offers the lifestyle, culture, and rural activities of the Tamang people of the mountain region. This new trekking route is less popular than the other commercial region, but it is a beautiful moderate-level Trek in Nepal. Not just the locals' culture, religion, and tenor but attractive hills, forests, rivers, valleys, water, mountains, and other natural resources make the Trek an extreme experience for the visitors.

Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking lies about 140km north of Kathmandu and goes through the hillside road to Syabrubesi. The Langtang Valley Trek begins from the same place to the right of Syabrubesi, but the Tamang Heritage Trail goes to the left.

The Trekking to theTamang Heritage leads through a steep climb of about 3 hours to Goljung Bhanjyang from Syabrubesi, then goes on a flat part on a rough road to Gatlang on the first day. Gatlang is a big Tamang village with hundreds of traditional buildings. You can see wooden plank roofs on those buildings, which can be an extra memory from this Trek.

The journey of the Tamang heritage goes to Tatopani after the Gatlang village. Tatopani used to have a natural hot spring, but it is no more after a big earthquake on 25th April 2015. You can see Ganesh Himal and Siringi Himal from this area. Chilime Valley and farming terraces look amazing on the day, from Gatlang to Tatopani walk.

Nagthai is on a hill station that offers stunning mountain views, such as Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Tibetan massif. Not just the Himalayas, beautiful valley lower, Thuman village, green hills, and more attractions look outstanding from the Nagthali. A couple of hour's walk to the north from Nagthali, you reach one viewpoint, from where you can see Tibetan villages and long-ranged mountains.

You can end the Trek to Syabrubesi by walking from Nagthali in one day, hiking a few more days through Bridim, or making a combined Trek with the Langtang Valley.

Frolic Adventure operates a Trek to Tamang Heritage with an experienced government license holder English-speaking guide. The helpers to carry your trekking gear for the Trek are very helpful and honest, so start packing for the trip and contact us if you have any queries.
