Namaste! I am Rajesh Thapaliya, the Managing Director and a trekking and tour operator at Frolic Adventure. I have been working in Nepal’s tourism industry since 2000.
I began my journey as a trekking porter, carrying equipment and supplies to Nepal’s beautiful mountain regions for the trekkers. This experience helped me understand the challenges of trekking and taught me the importance of safety, teamwork, and responsible travel. After gaining experience and receiving my trekking guide license, I worked as a trekking guide and a team leader.
After graduating, I also earned my heritage tour guide license through a specialized course. This allowed me to guide travelers through Nepal’s historic, cultural, and religious sites while sharing my country's stories, traditions, and heritage.
Although I now manage Frolic Adventure, I still trek regularly to Nepal’s mountain base camps and remote destinations. Staying active in the field keeps my knowledge current and helps me understand what travelers experience on their journeys.
Through my articles, I share first-hand experiences, practical travel advice, and genuine local knowledge. My goal is to provide accurate and trustworthy information that helps you plan a safe, enjoyable, and memorable adventure in Nepal.
