The Mardi Himal Trek in the Annapurna region is a perfect mountain trip in Nepal for those with limited time, beginners, the elderly, and families with kids. It is a new trekking trail within the Annapurna Conservation Area and is becoming popular for its natural attractions.

The Trek to Mardi Himal begins in the beautiful lake city of Pokhara, then continues to Phedi, Ghattekhola, or Kande. Alternatively, you can start the Trek from Siding Village. Getting off the vehicle in Kande, the Mardi Himal Trail goes to Deurali on the first day via the Australian camp. After that, the Trek reaches a forest camp on the second day, passing through a dense forest of pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. The Mardi High Camp is the last place where you can get accommodation.

The Trekking route offers stunning mountain views of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Annapurna I, II, IV, Fishtail, Mardi Himal, and more. In addition to the high, snow-capped Himalayas and lush greenery, the edges of Bonnie hills and valleys add more beauty to the route to Mardi Himal. You can also see outstanding views of the Modi River valley towards the Annapurna Base Camp and big villages like Chhomrong and Ghandruk on the other side.

Frolic Adventure can be a channel for you to see these beauties and reach the base camp of Mardi Himal. We operate the Mardi Trek at a reasonable cost and provide experienced trekking guides for our valued clients. Mardi Himal Itinerary

Our regular trekking itinerary for Mardi Himal is seven days, but you can do it in five if you can walk fast. It reaches over 4,200m, so you might get altitude sickness if you walk too fast. Our hiking route goes through Kande and the Australian camp to Deurali on the first day, then the forest camp on the second. After that, you go to low camp and high camp accordingly. The next day, from the high camp, you hike to the Mardi base camp through the viewpoint.

After spending two nights at the high camp, you have a long day's Trek to Siding. If you have a group, you might take transportation from Siding to Pokhara and reserve a jeep on the same day. Alternatively, you can trek a couple of hours the next day to Lumre and catch a bus to Pokhara from Siding.

The Best Time for Mardi Himal

The best months to trek to Mardi Himal are October, November, and April. December offers better visibility than other months but starts with cold temperatures. We recommend going to Mardi Himal in December if you want a trip that is not crowded and has fantastic views. September and May are also good, but early May might have some rainy days during the Trek. Blooming rhododendrons in spring and cherry blossoms in November make the trail beautiful.

The trail on Mardi Himal after Badal Danda can be risky if there is snow. Winter and the beginning of spring can be brutal when trekking to the Mardi Himal base camp. Likewise, the monsoon season is not a good time for this Trek. During the monsoon season, many rainy days and leeches on the Mardi Himal trail.

Accommodation, Food, and Drink on the Mardi Himal Trail

It is a busy Trekking trail in the Annapurna Conservation Area. This route has a couple hundred trekkers daily during the high season. So, there are plenty of lodges at each stop while on the Mardi Himal hike. The guesthouses are average, but the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable on the Trekking route. You can get Private accommodations in the lodges where you stay.

You can order food from a menu, so you do not have to stick with local foods. However, the same items are often on the menu in every place. You can buy bottled or tap water for drinks and purify it yourself.

Frolic Adventure is a reputed local trek and tour organizer in Nepal. We operate this Trek with an experienced, friendly, English-speaking Trekking guide and helpful assistance. Please contact us if you need any information about the Mardi Himal trip.
