Kakani Suryachaur Day Hike is one of the best day hikes for activists. It is a short and easy Day Hike to the north of Kathmandu. Kakani to Surychaur Hike offers scenic snow-capped mountain ranges, nature, birds, green hills, valleys, and more. This hike is suitable even for children.
The Kakani to Surychaur Hike starts after about an hour and a half of driving from Kathmandu to Kakani by private transport. Cross Kakani Village and the scout center, then reach the black tea farm. The trail enters the dense forest after an army base. The views of the high, far-off mountains like Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang are outstanding from different angles; dark green forests, hills, valleys, birds, and colorful flowers make the hike wonderful.
After hiking through the forest for about three hours, arrive at Suryachaur, an open place with an unblocked Himalayan range. There are some local cottages for lunch with a fantastic view. After the local lunch, the hike continues to Gurje Bhanjyang, where the walk ends, and we drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 1
Drive to Kakani, Hike to Suryachaur- Gurje Bhanjyang and drive back to Kathmandu.
We meet our guide and drive to Kakani after breakfast at our hotel at about 7 am. We reach Kakani after 2 hours of driving and start our hike, passing Kakani village and entering the jungle. After walking for about 2 hours through the forest, we reach the open place where we see Suryachaur and the mountains. We stop for lunch, then hike another hour to the Gurje Bhanjyang. Here we catch our private transport and drive back to the hotel.
